The second year of IS-4, following Islamic Studies: Grade 10. Grade 11 is the fiqh of the family and of the community — the obligations a Muslim takes on toward other people, from the household outward.
It carries the one thing the whole program was missing. Until September 2026 JBJ Academy taught the aqeedah of death thoroughly — the grave, the sirat, the scale — and taught nothing about what a Muslim actually does when someone dies. Janazah is a fard kifayah and a student will need it on a day nobody planned for. Unit 5 is that unit.
Units
- Marriage — purpose, the nikah, and what makes it valid
- Rights Inside a Marriage — what each owes the other
- When a Family Is Under Strain — conflict, divorce, and what the shariah protects
- Parents and Children — rights in both directions
- Janazah — what to do when someone dies
- The Community — Jumuah, the Eid prayers, the masjid, and collective obligations
Builds on: Character & Ethics on birr al-walidayn, and Islamic Studies Grade 8’s Unit 3 on how the Prophet ﷺ handled disagreement. The janazah unit is the practical companion to Grade 9’s Unit 7, The Last Day — one teaches what happens, this one teaches what to do.
Lessons are shells. Titles, unit placement and cross-references are built; the lesson content is not yet written.
